- Place
- Lombardia runs from the Alps to the Po Valley, with Milan at its center. The Milanese tradition of cioccolata calda spans from intense dark cocoa preparations to lighter milk chocolate versions. The latte style, with milk built into the mix, is the creamier entry into the tradition.
- Process
- Cocoa, corn starch, milk powder, and whey are combined in proportion. The milk is in the sachet, not added at the end, which is what gives the latte its texture: creamier and lighter than the dark versions, with 15% cocoa instead of 25 or 34. No artificial flavors, no gums.
- People
- We work with the family in Lombardia who makes the full hot chocolate line. The latte formula has a lower cocoa percentage (15%) and more milk built in. It is the version we recommend to people starting with cioccolata calda.

Questions
-
How is this different from the dark and classic versions?
The latte uses 15% cocoa compared to 25 or 34% in the other versions. Milk powder and whey are already in the sachet. It is creamier, sweeter, and less intense. More drinkable, less spoon. -
Does it contain dairy?
Yes. The latte contains milk powder and whey. It is not suitable for those with a milk allergy. -
Can I make it with a dairy-free milk?
You can. Oat milk works best. Almond or soy will change the consistency slightly since the formula is calibrated for whole dairy milk. -
Is the mix complete?
Yes. Add milk, heat, stir. The milk powder in the sachet gives it the latte texture; the milk you add provides the liquid base. -
Can I adjust the thickness?
The latte is naturally lighter than the dark versions. More heat and less milk will thicken it. It is designed to be more drinkable than spoonable. -
How long does it keep?
Sealed sachets: cool, dry place, 12 or more months. Prepared: refrigerate and drink within 2-3 days. -
How is this shipped?
From our New York warehouse via Amazon fulfillment. In-stock orders ship in 1-2 business days. Free shipping over $75. -
What if it arrives damaged or I don't love it?
Write to us. We refund within 60 days, no questions. -
